It’s Hip to be Square – Part 1

Huey Lewis got it right. So did my newest client, Woody’s Farm to Table,  located in Cornwall, NY. It is hip to be square. On Thursday September 19th, I started my first install of a POS system, run entirely using Square. Personally, I have been using Square to accept credit card payments from any of my clients wishing to pay their invoices with a Visa, MasterCard, Discover, or AMEX card. I purchased a Square reader at Radioshack, returned back to my office, and within 20 minutes, had an account setup and ready to accept credit card payments. Furthermore, my credit card terminal was now mobile, allowing me to swipe a card using my iPhone or iPad at any moments notice. Awesome. To learn more about Square, visit www.squareup.com.

In the case of Woody’s Farm to Table, not only was a Square account setup, but they will also be utilizing their software (which is free) to act as their POS system for placing food orders – and best of all, they will be using a Square Stand, which ultimately, mounts an iPad in a slick stand – and ‘Voila!’ – you have a POS station. Below are some photos of it’s initial setup. Look out for part 2 of this blog entry, coming this weekend.
